Arun Valley Trek is one of the off the beaten trek and non touristic trekking destination in Nepal. Situated between Mt Everest and Makali- Barun National Park, Arun valley offers you best Himalayan scenery of Mt. Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Makalu, Mt Thamserku, Mt Ama Dablam, Mt Nuptse and other small peaks. The valley is the home of 650 different species of birds, 800 species of butterfly and many rare and endangered animals including Panda. The dense forest is surrounded by Orchids and other beautiful flowers. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to the hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu city tour and trek preparation
Today, we tour to heritage sites at Kathmandu. We start a guide tour from your hotel to four heritage site in Kathmandu which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. First we visit to Pashupatinath Temple situated in Gausala and banks of Bagmati River where Aryaghat, famous funeral site for Hindus lies. After sightseeing, we visit to Boudhanatha, the Buddhists shrine which is one of the largest stupa in the world. Boudhhanath is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimages that include over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries and popular tourist destination. Tour leads to Kathmandu Durbar Square also known as Basantapur holds the medieval king’s palaces who had ruled over Kathmandu Kingdom once. Our last tour will be Swayambhu (the self-existent) which is one of the famous touristic areas where we find large number of monkey population. After sightseeing, we go back to you hotel and you can take rest and prepare for trekking.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar 1 hour
After breakfast, we head to airport where we have a flight to Tumlingtar. It takes 1 hour from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. During the flight passengers can explore the beautiful valley, mountains, etc.
Day 04: Trek from Tumlingtar to Chyawabesi (280m) 5-6 hours
After we land at Tumlingtar, we head to hotels and have lunch. We will have porters to carry your bags then our trek begins towards Chyawabesi (280m) which takes about 5 to 6 hours. We stay overnight here.
Day 05: Trek from Chyawabesi to Kothe 5-6 hurs
Our today’s destination is Kothe. After breakfast, we walk for 5 to 6 hours till we reach Kothe. We stay overnight here and have dinner.
Day 06: Trek from Kothe to Salpa Phedi (1680m) 5-6 hours
Our today’s destination is Salpa phedi (1680m). After breakfast, we walk through the forest and valley for about 5 to 6 hours till we reach Salpa Phedi. We stay overnight here and have dinner.
Day 07: Trek from Salpa Phedi to Sanam (2850m) 5-6 hours
Our today’s destination is Sanam (2850m). After breakfast, we walk across the Salpa phedi for about 5 to 6 hours and head towards Sanam(2850m). We stay overnight here.
Day 08: Trek from Sanam to Bung (1900m) 5-6 hours
Our today’s destination is Bung. After breakfast, crossing the Sanam valley, we walk for about 5 to 6 hours and head towards Bung (1900m). We stay overnight here.
Day 09: Trek from Bung to Gai Kharka (2300m) 5-6 hours
Our today’s destination is Gai Kharka (2300m). After breakfast, we walk across Bung and head towards Gai Kharka (2300m) which takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach. We stay overnight here.
Day 10: Trek from Gai Kharka to Puiyan (2230m) 5-6 hours
Our today’s destination is Puiyan (2230m). After breakfast, we walk across the Gai Kharka through the village and reach Puiyan (2230m) which is about 5 to 6 hours of walk. We stay overnight.
Day 11: Trek from Puiyan to Phakding (2830m) 5-6 hours
Our today’s destination is Phakding (2830m). After breakfast, we head towards Phakding (2830m) which is 5 to 6 hours walk from Puiyan. We stay overnight here.
Day 12: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar (3480m)
From Phakding trail leads to Dudh Koshi River and valley lying to its west bank. Climbing steeply towards Benkar through a rocky ridge, we head to the magnificient forests of magnolia, giant firs and rhododendron which make the trail beautiful to walk in. We climb up to Monjo (2840m) across the kyashar and enter the Sagarmatha National Park lying beyond Monjo. Way to entrance station makes a steep rocky descent where we cross Dudh Koshi River leading us to Namche Bazaar (3420m).
Day 13: Acclimatization and rest day
After a hectic day, you need to take rest and prepare for further higher trek. This day will be a hiking day for you where we hike to the villages of Khumjung and Khunde. Our hike start from Shyanboche airstrip via climbing one hour and lead to Khunde where we pass through numerous stone Buddhist monuments. After Khunde, we head east to the large Khumjung village lying at the foot of the sacred mountain Khumbila. We then have lunch and rest for a while then follow to Chhorkung (3540m) and back to Namche Bazaar.
Day 14: Trek from Namche Bazar to Phortse Village (3890m) 5-6 hours
Our destination set for today is Phortse Village (3890m). After Btreakfast, we head towards Phortse village, a beautiful Sherpa village which takes 5 to 6 hours of walk through Namche Bazaar. We stay overnight.
Day 15: Trek from Phortse Village to Pheriche (4250m) 5 hours
Our destination set for today is Pheriche (4250m). After Btreakfast, we head towards Pheriche experiencing beautiful peaks which takes approx 5 hours walk through Phortse village. We stay overnight.
Day 16: Trek from Pheriche to Louboche (4910m) 5-6 hours
Our destination set for today is Louboche (4910m). After Btreakfast, we head towards Louboche experiencing beautiful Mt. Louboche , forest and high hills which is 5 to 6 hours walk through Pheriche. We stay overnight and take rest.
Day 17: Trek from Louboche to Gorakshep (5180m) 5-6 hours
We take the path to Mount Everest Base Camp through the once huge Gorak Shep Lake. Continuing straight ahead, we tend to come upon the Indian army mountaineers' memorials. The path from here is misleading; thus, it's necessary that we follow our lead Sherpa diligently. The walk is exhausting as a result of thin air within the high altitude. Before we reach the Base camp, we walk through moraine, streams and rocky dunes. After we reach base camp, we can see many tents of mountaineers standing out in bright colors. We can also view other peaks such as Pumori, Nuptse and Khumbuste. After experiencing outstanding trip we head back to Gorak Shep. We stay overnight and get good rest.
Day 18: Trek from Gorakshep to Dengboche (4345m) via Kalapatthar (5545m) at early morning 7-8 hours
After we departure from Gorak Shep, we head to Kala Patthar. If we departure early morning, the climate will be cold due to chilly winds. On our way, we will experience peaks such as Everest, Khumbutse, Changtse tower and Ligtren. We can enjoy the magnificient Himalaya Panoroma and return to Dengboche have dinner and rest at night.
Day 19: Trek from Dengboche to Tengboche (3890m) 5-6 hurs
Our destination set for today is Tengboche (3890m). After breakfast, we return back to Tengboche (3890m) which is 5 to 6 hours of walk through Dengboche. We stay overnight here.
Day 20: Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazar (3480m) 6-7 hours
Our destination set for today is Namche Bazaar (3480m). After breakfast, we return back to Namche Bazaar (3480m) leaving mountains behind which is 6 to 7 hours of walk from Tengboche. We stay overnight here, relax and celebrate our success.
Day 21: Trek from Namche Bazar to Lukla (2830m) 6-7 hours
As the trail steps down steeply so we need to walk very carefully as our legs are shaky and frequently get ang fight in the rockey terrain. After we cross the bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, the trail becomes natural and easy and we arrive in Lukla. We take a good rest, relax and celebrate and stay overnight.
Day 22: Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla and Transfer to the hotel
In this day, we will have a flight to Kathmandu before that you can have shopping, collect souvenirs as per your wish and head to Kathmandu.
Day 23: Final Departure
This is the day of your departure so you can have shopping and celebrate your successful trekking journey. Our representative with driver will take you to airport on time.
